Hi everyone, my name is Christal, and I’m creating this fundraiser for my dear friend Vikki, who is going through an incredibly difficult time right now.

Vikki is currently battling Huntington’s disease, a serious and progressive neurological condition that affects movement, cognitive function, and daily life. Because of her health, her doctors have recommended that she apply for permanent disability. Unfortunately, like many people in this situation, the disability process takes time — and during that waiting period she has lost all of her income.

Right now Vikki is facing an impossible situation. Without disability benefits yet approved, she no longer has the financial resources to cover even the most basic necessities. She is struggling to afford her medications, rent, car payment, food, and other essential living expenses.

She is actively working to apply for county assistance and other programs, but those systems also take time to process. Without help during this waiting period, Vikki is at real risk of becoming homeless within the next month.

Anyone who knows Vikki knows she is a strong, kind, and caring person who has always tried to handle things on her own. Asking for help is not easy for her, but right now she truly needs support from the people around her.

This fundraiser is meant to help Vikki stay afloat while she fights for the disability support her doctors have already recommended. The funds raised will go toward:

• Rent and housing expenses

• Necessary medications

• Food and basic living needs

• Car payment and transportation to medical care
