Hi, my name is Jenny and that’s my very good boy Vigo.

Vigo is a 5 yo Cane Corso. He was chosen from his litter to be a service dog for a veteran. That veteran turned out to be me. He’s been with me since he was 1 and he’s changed my life in more ways than I can count.

Vigo recently had a growth removed from his foot. The hope was that it was a cyst or benign but unfortunately it turned out to be cancer. Grade 1 Fibrosarcoma specifically. It’s the lowest grade and grows very slowly which is good. However it had been on his foot long enough that it had grown right up against his toe and the vet couldn’t get a wide enough margin around the tumor because of that. The best course of action now is to take the toe to hopefully prevent the cancer from regrowing in that spot. In addition we would like to have some tests and scans done to determine if there are any other areas of concern.

His first surgery was on January 5 and cost us $1,600. We maxed out our available funds on that surgery and now need to come up with another $1,600 for the toe amputation and $1,000 for the additional tests. The vet recommended we move rather quickly to remove the toe so that is our top priority but we can’t come up with the money on our own that quickly. I’m not a huge fan of asking people for money but I’ll do anything for my baby boy. So now I’m asking for the kindness of strangers and friends to help us get him the medical care he needs to live the healthiest and fullest life we can possibly give him. It’s the least I can do after what he’s done for me.
