Help Viggo the Assistance Dog in ICU
Donation protected
Hi everyone. My name is Carden, and this is my 5 year-old mobility assistance dog, Viggo, from the organization Can Do Canines.
He recently landed himself in the ICU with Chylothorax. This is a rare condition where fluid leaks into the chest cavity, causing the lungs to float and have difficulty expanding. He is stable and doing well with no signs of infection or bacteria, however the medical bills are astronomical and have only become more expensive since Viggo needed invasive chest surgery. As of 10/25, the low-end cost estimate has reached $18.000, with the high end exceeding $21,000. As you can imagine, this is absolutely devastating to myself and my family.

I am unable to work due to my disability, so I have been relying on my parents to pay the emergency vet bills so that Viggo could begin treatment ASAP. I’ve also applied for urgent medical bill assistance from RedRover. I’m asking for help in continuing his care, which may include surgery, as well as buying specialty food and supplements he will need for the remainder of his life. In addition, since I am without his assistance, I will need help getting low-energy meals and takeout for the foreseeable future because I will be using so much more energy without his assistance.

See our video above for more information on how Viggo helps me. He is my best friend, my lifeline, and the best assistance dog I could ever imagine. ❤️
