Help Indian student with a tragic accident

Hi, we are friends of Vidya Kallur Sudheendra trying to raise fund on her behalf. She is a 3rd semester Masters student from India studying at university of New Haven.

She was heading home after her class in the evening on Monday Oct 17th while crossing at a pedestrian crossing she was hit by a car. It was a hit and run case and cops are still trying to catch hold of the driver who hit her.

We still don’t know who it is but fortunately cops got to the scene and she was immediately transported to the emergency room near by.

Vidya’s injuries require intensive care unit admission and multiple surgical procedures for stabilization of fractures of her femur, tibia, fibula, and pelvic bone. She is in sever pain with multiple wounds all over her body. Doctors are assessing her situation. Her prognosis for recovering from her injuries to baseline functionality will be between 18 months to 2 years. Patient will require several weeks in the hospital followed by physical rehabilitation at a specialized facility to fully recover from her injuries.It is a very long and expensive road to recovery.

She is an international student who does not have any source of income in this country. She need financial assistance to pay off her bills and for her rehabilitation treatment.

Her parents in India are struggling to get here to take care of her as she has no family in the US who can take care of her . They are yet to get their passport and then visa. We as her friends are trying our best but we all are international students ourselves.

She came to this country with lots of dreams for herself and her family with a student loan thinking she would work hard and find a good job, never expected to find herself in a situation like this.
