Hi everyone,
Our hearts are breaking as we write this. Our sweet 18-month-old pup, Vida, needs major surgery to repair her torn ACL, and we’re so close to being able to give her the care she deserves — but we’ve hit a wall financially. We’ve managed to raise $5,000 through savings, friends, and sheer determination, but we still need $2,000 to fully cover her surgery and recovery.
Vida came into our lives when she was just a tiny ball of fur and energy — all wiggly butt, floppy ears, and endless curiosity. From day one, she’s been pure sunshine: greeting every person she meets as if they’re her best friend, zooming around the yard like she’s powered by joy, and curling up beside us at night as if to say, “I’m home.”
A few weeks ago, everything changed. Vida started limping and whimpering whenever she tried to stand. Our hearts sank. After rushing her to the vet and meeting with an orthopedic specialist, we got the devastating news: Vida had torn her ACL (the cranial cruciate ligament in her knee). The only real option to restore her mobility and relieve her pain is surgery — and because she’s still growing and active, the vet stressed how important it is to do it soon, before permanent damage sets in.
Without the procedure, Vida will live with constant pain and likely lose the ability to run, jump, and play. With it, she can have a full, happy, pain-free life — chasing tennis balls, and enjoying the world like the joyful, curious dog she is.
We’ve done everything we can to make this surgery possible. We’ve emptied our savings, picked up extra work, and received incredible help from friends and family to reach $5,000. But the total cost, including surgery, anesthesia, post-op care, and follow-up physical therapy, is a little over $7,000 — and we’re now completely tapped out.
We’re humbly asking for help to raise the final $2,000 that stands between Vida and her recovery. Every single dollar will go directly toward her surgery and healing. If by some miracle we raise a little extra, it will cover her medications, therapy sessions, and follow-up visits to ensure she heals properly.
We know times are tough, and we don’t take your generosity lightly. Whether you can donate $5 or simply share Vida’s story, it truly makes a difference. Even the smallest act of kindness helps bring our girl one step closer to walking, running, and living pain-free again.
Vida’s name means “life,” and that’s exactly what she brings into ours — light, love, and laughter every single day. She’s far too young to spend her days in pain. Please help us give her the chance to grow up healthy, happy, and full of life.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for reading, sharing, and caring. We’ll keep everyone updated as she recovers — and we can’t wait to post that first video of her running again. ❤️
With love and gratitude,
Josie
