Help Vida and Her Daughter Rebuild After a Devastating Fire
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Cecilia Crentsil and I am raising funds for my cousin Vida whose apartment was gutted by fire on Saturday the 14th of June 2025.
Vida (29) and her three year old daughter Leah, who both live in Nsawam, in the Eastern Region of Ghana were not at home when their apartment caught fire but by the time neighbours called and they arrived, everything had already been reduced to ashes.
Vida is a strong, resilient young mother who has battled sickle cell disease all her life. Despite spending weeks at a time in the hospital each year, she never gave up on her dreams. She finished school later than her peers but eventually opened a beauty parlour where she provides makeup, hair, and nail services to her clients. Vida pours her heart and soul into her business daily and is always happy to learn new skills and try new techniques.
Just before the fire, Vida had saved up enough money to pay a year’s rent in advance, as is the norm in Ghana. Sadly, that rent money was also in the apartment and was completely lost in the fire.
Now, she and her little girl are left with nothing.
Our family is doing our best to support them through this, but we know it won’t be enough to help Vida fully start over. That’s why we’re turning to you, our friends, family, and kind strangers for help.
We are hoping to raise $5,000 to help Vida and Leah rebuild their lives. This will go toward securing new accommodation, replacing essential belongings and food.
We know times are tough for everyone, but even the smallest donation can make a world of difference.
More than anything, we want Vida to know that even in the darkest of times, there is light and that there are people who care and are willing to help.
Please consider donating and sharing this page. It will mean the world to us. Thank you so much for your support and your kindness.
