Our athletes all have amazing backgrounds. The bios for each athlete are below:
Kaivin:
My name is Kaivin Im, I am from Vietnamese/Chinese decent and I have been competitively weightlifting for the past 2 years for both club and high school. I began weightlifting because I thought it was interesting, I seemed to learn the lifts (snatch, clean and jerk) rather quickly and I enjoyed getting stronger in the process. Obstacles that I have had to face in weightlifting have been to overcome doubt and become more mentality strong, especially during competitions. My goal is to become an elite weightlifter and hopefully compete in World Championships and possibly the Olympics when I get older.

Fuge:
Hello my name is Fuge Theodore, I’m a proud Haitian and I’m a proud weightlifter for Victory Mode Weightlifting. I first got introduced to the sport of weightlifting from going into the weight room for football strength and conditioning sessions. I instantly fell in love with the Snatch and the Clean & Jerk and picked them up fairly quickly; from there Coach Stucky invited to join the weightlifting club. At times it is difficult to balance training for multiple sports, however I want to be good at both so its something I’ve gotten used to. My goal currently is to medal at Youth Nationals this summer and if God wills it, I would love to pursue weightlifting as career and compete at World Championships and Olympic games.

Tyler:
My name is Tyler Park, I’m originally from Peru, and I’ve been weightlifting for over a year now. Most recently, Coach Stucky invited me to join Victory Mode Weightlifting. Some obstacles that I have overcome have been learning proper technique when it comes to the snatch and the clean jerk while getting the strongest I can at my size. My short-term goal is to qualify to Youth Nationals. Some long-term goals are to improve as a weightlifter, and getting better by going to big time meets, my eventual goal is to get to compete at a world class level and win.
