Help Victoria through her Ovarian Cancer Journey

Donation protected
Hello everyone. For those who don't know, my name is Brittany and I am Victoria's older sister.

On June 30th 2023, my 28 year old sister's world turned upside down as she was diagnosed with germ cell ovarian cancer.

Back in July 2022, she had an IUD placed which was taken out a few months later as it was causing her to develop uncomfortable ovarian cysts which she never had an issue with before. Then in February 2023, she had a follow-up pelvic ultrasound after her IUD removal and it was completely normal. Fast forward to June 30th 2023, she started experiencing bloating, discomfort with eating and drinking, and other issues with her body that she typically would’ve ignored to see if the symptoms went away; but eventually she realized something wasn't right. She trusted her gut and went to the ambulatory center to get checked out and they found a large 5.5 inch pelvic mass on the CT scan! She was then referred to an OBGYN oncologist where they had drawn some cancer marker bloodwork which determined the mass was germ cell ovarian cancer. She then went through major surgery on July 7th where they opened the abdominal cavity to remove the mass along with her right ovary and tube. And although there seemed to be no sign of spread, it was determined she would still need to have chemotherapy to hopefully prevent it from happening to the left ovary. Due to chemotherapy potentially effecting the body, including fertility, her doctors explained it was best to harvest some of her eggs to use for the future in case she was unable to get pregnant naturally. So not only did she just discover she has cancer, but she has gone through surgery, fertility meds/daily injections, egg retrieval, a mediport placement, and now the start of chemotherapy which will cause her to lose her hair and possibly even make her feel more sick.

So much has happened in a short amount of time which has been extremely overwhelming for her. Knowing this cancer grew so fast in such a short amount of time is scary. With everything going on, there has been plenty of tears but she has also been keeping the most positive attitude about it all and is determined to get through this with her head held high.

Unfortunately, during this entire process she has been unable to work, and is unsure when she will be able to return as they are estimating 3-4 rounds of chemotherapy. On top of regular bills piling up, she also has to pay for medical expenses and other necessities. Due to each chemo appointment being long and multiple times a week, we will not be doing any sort of benefit to raise funds.

This Gofund me was created to help my sister with her financial burdens during this scary and tough time in her life. She is a strong woman with her whole life ahead of her. We know she will get through this but she doesn't need to worry about finances and additional costs while her body and mind fight to heal.

Anything will help, thank you so very much!
