My name is Victoria Barnes, I’m 22 and from Bakersfield, CA. I’m raising funds for emergency relocation because I am currently homeless after a hospital discharge and unsafe in my city. I have an active case and am working with victim services to move out of state to a safe location. Federal funds can take a few days to process, but I need a bus ticket and a safe place to stay tonight.

Moving out of state will get me away from the person and city where I was harmed. I’m working with victim services in Nevada and Washington to relocate to a confidential location. Right now, I have no door I can lock. In my new city, I’ll have a locked motel room tonight and then transitional housing, putting me 400+ miles from danger. My hopes are to sleep without fear, get my ID and birth certificate replaced, and start trauma counseling. I want to go back to school and work, but I need to survive this week first. Getting out tonight breaks the cycle. Staying here another night puts me at risk of being found.
