Our mom has spent her entire life showing up for others.
Now, we’re asking for help so we can show up for her.
On December 28, 2025, our lives changed.
In the middle of the night, our mother, Victoria, woke up with a severe headache. We rushed her to the hospital, where doctors told us she had suffered a ruptured brain aneurysm and was actively bleeding. Within two hours, she lost consciousness and was taken into emergency surgery at M Health Fairview – University of Minnesota.
We were told the odds were devastating. Only 1 in 5 people survive a rupture like this.
Thankfully, our mom survived.
She has now spent the past two weeks in the ICU. While she is showing signs of progress, this is only the beginning of a long and uncertain road. Doctors have since found two additional aneurysms, and she will need another major surgery in the coming weeks. The long-term effects are still unknown, but like any serious brain injury, her recovery will require extensive medical care, rehabilitation, and ongoing support.
What makes this especially hard is knowing who our mom is.
Just one week before her aneurysm, she was out advocating for her community, standing alongside others and using her voice to support dignity and justice. That has always been her nature.
Victoria immigrated to the United States in her mid-20s to give her three children Jose, Karla, and Danny a better life. She is one of the hardest-working, most caring, and genuinely loving people we know. She raised us with the belief that you give what you can, even when you have very little, and that helping others is not optional, it’s a responsibility.
Victoria is not someone who ever asks for help.
But now, our family has no choice.
Our mom will be unable to work for a long time, and our Dad (Larry) has had to step away from his own work to care for her daily needs. Between mounting medical bills, upcoming surgeries, rehabilitation, and basic living expenses, the financial strain has become overwhelming.
We are asking, with humility and hope, for any support you may be able to give. Every contribution helps ease the burden on our family and allows us to focus on what matters most: our mom’s healing.
If you’re unable to donate, we would be deeply grateful for your prayers, good thoughts, and for sharing this page.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for standing with us during this incredibly difficult time and for keeping our mother, Victoria, in your prayers.
Con amor y gratitud,
Nuestra familia ❤️
