Help a Black Trans Woman Find Stability
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Victoria, I am a Black transgender woman and I’m reaching out during a tough moment. I was recently laid off from my role as a Resource Navigator after my (previous) organization lost two major grants, cut due to executive orders under the current administration.
My work meant everything to me because I came from the same struggle and experiences that I was trying to help. I was homeless when I first moved here to LA (for access to medical care) and had to find resources on my own, with no community support. I’ve spent 4 years building myself up, making chosen family, and creating community out in LA. I finally got into a semi-stable position, and the past two years, I have helped connect folks in crisis to housing, food, healthcare, and essential support. Losing this job not only meant I lost the opportunity to do the work I was doing, but it also uprooted my life. I will have to find work, new housing, and this GoFundMe is here to help me ease into a new place I can afford and stay on my feet.
Now, I’m in a difficult position while I look for new work in the community care field and other ventures. I’m asking for help covering moving costs and avoiding being homeless during this unexpected transition.
If you’ve ever been supported by someone in social services—or believe in the importance of community work—your support, whether it’s a donation or a share, would mean so much right now.
Thank you for reading, and I have faith in my community.
With gratitude,
Victoria
