I created this gofundme on behalf of my good friend Victor. This is his story:
My name is Victor. I’m 26 years old, French, and I’ve been living in Orlando for the past 13 years. I came here as a teenager with my parents, who were here on an E2 visa. Since then, life has moved on. My parents are now back in France, and I am here on my own. I work in the restaurant industry in Orlando. I work hard often more than 12 hours a day earning $16 an hour. It’s not easy, but I do it with pride. I’ve always taken care of myself, paid my bills, and never asked for help. Last night, everything changed. On my way home from work, on I-4 in Orlando, a truck hit my car. The impact was violent. My car was thrown against the guardrail before the truck drove away. In seconds, my life flashed before my eyes. By some miracle, I walked away physically unharmed. Every airbag deployed and protected me. I’m still in shock, but I’m alive and for that, I’m incredibly grateful.
But my car is gone. That car wasn’t a luxury. It was my lifeline. I bought it with a loan, which I still have to pay back. It was my only way to get to work. In a city like Orlando, without a car, you simply can’t survive. Without a car, I will lose my job. Without a job, I won’t be able to pay my bills or even repay the loan for a car I no longer have. And without transportation, finding another job becomes almost impossible.
For the first time in my life, I’m forced to ask for help. I’m asking for: • A car donation, if anyone has the possibility • Or financial support to help me get back on my feet and continue working.
Anything helps. Even sharing this means more than you know. Thank you for taking the time to read my story. Thank you for your kindness, your support, and your humanity.
