My name is Victor, and I’m reaching out during one of the most challenging times of my life. Recently, I was involved in a serious accident on my way to work. My car was struck from both the rear and the side by two other vehicles, leaving it completely unusable. The accident wasn’t my fault, but it has turned my daily life upside down. With my car gone, finding reliable transportation has been nearly impossible, especially with the added complications of recent snowstorms and my limited resources. My employer values in-person work, and without a way to get to the office, my job is now at risk.

As a professional over 50, I never found it difficult in the past to secure employment. But in recent years, my industry has shifted to hiring contractors, outsourcing to other countries, and relying more on artificial intelligence. Finding this full-time job, which I started on January 26—even though it was at half the salary I was used to—was something I was truly grateful for. The thought of losing it because of circumstances beyond my control has been incredibly stressful.

The stress of this situation has been overwhelming. I’ve even ended up in the hospital with elevated blood pressure, chest pains, and severe anxiety, all from worrying about what will happen if I lose my job. Despite these setbacks, I remain committed to my work and to moving forward. I’m seeking support to help me secure transportation so I can keep my job and regain some stability. But I also want to turn this hardship into hope for others. Part of my goal is to start a foundation that provides emergency transportation for people facing tough times, so no one feels stranded or alone like I have.
