Hi everyone,
For those of you who don’t know me, I’m Victor Puglielli, A Brazilian multidisciplinary artist, focused on sculptural avant-garde wear.
I’ve started this crowdfunding to help me get back on my feet and pursue my passion.
The beginning of this year I relocated to The Bay, and this has been the most difficult yet amazing moment of my life. On this emotional financial roller coaster of a city, as an independent artist things can change for great to awful in snap of a second. Even though I’ve been managing to survive here, its always barely enough. And Since I don’t have a backup or haven’t managed to get a side hustle, I’ve reached a point where I need to get the support of this amazing community.
I recently came across a costume design competition that could have an amazing impact on my career, but also came in a very delicate time for me. So I decided to ask for help so I can have a fair chance at this competition.
This crowdfunding is for 3 major goals
1.)Secure a housing/living situation.(4000)
2.)Materials and space to create.(5000)
3.)Shipping of pieces to a costume design competition.(1000)
—————————————————————
First and most importantly.
Now in December my living situation is becoming more complicated, as my friend who was housing me for now is moving. So I would need to get a place by January 1st(tough date i know) or even before. And since business has been slow and with no backup, well, you know here i am.
Second is to get materials and tools, and to get back at the workshop. I signed up for an amazing Costume Design competition where I’ll be entering a couple designs. Those need to be ready by march. So i need to start producing these extremely intricate pieces as soon as possible. My entries won’t just be in leather; I’ll be creating pieces using many different techniques I’ve been researching the past years.
The pieces that are accepted into the competition I have to come up with all the logistics for transporting them to and from New Zealand.
After the competition, I will be selling one of those pieces and donating the money to a charity for helping independent artists who are in of funding for their respective projects.
I will also be creating an image using the pieces and all people who contributed will be receiving a copy.
For the people who donate 2k or more. In the upcoming year I would like to create a one of a kind creation for you as gratitude.
Please feel free to share with everyone.
I will never give up on being a artist.
I will always do whatever it takes.
Love,
Victor.
