Help Victor Gordon's Family with Funeral Costs

Donation protected
It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of our beloved father & husband, Victor Gordon, on May 13, 2025. For the past 10 years, my dad courageously battled Lewy body dementia with Parkinson’s—a rare, misunderstood, and devastating disease often called “the long goodbye.” Watching him during his final days was incredibly difficult, and seeing my mom lose her husband after over 45+ years together was even harder. Though his final days were filled with challenges and unfortunately, suffering for us all, we will remember him with love and gratitude for the strength he showed throughout.

Victor was an extraordinary man whose life touched many. As a highly respected project engineer, he worked on major projects worldwide for companies such as Bechtel, M.K. Ferguson, and Worley Parsons. His work helped build factories for giants like Anheuser-Busch, spanning cities to continents from Los Angeles to Russia and others in between. Despite his professional achievements, Victor’s greatest pride was his family—his devoted wife Demetria, their two children Corinne (myself) and my younger brother, Connor. & of course his beloved dog, Kalypso, who was his soul dog & constant companion and protector.

Victor had an infectious laugh and a unique sense of humor that filled every room he entered, even if his jokes weren’t always “funny” (they weren’t lol) — everyone laughed anyway. He loved music, passionately studying artists from the ’50s through the 2000s, and could recite stories about their lives and styles for hours. He loved old movies, animals, and the outdoors. Him and my mom both enjoyed motorcycle rides on their Harley’s anround the country and off-roading adventures in Jeeps.

For over a decade, my dad’s medical needs placed an enormous strain on our family… financially, emotionally, & physically being that we were his full time caregivers.Because of the nature of his disease, the way his work contracts were structured, and the fact that he hadn’t been able to work in over a decade, he did not qualify for financial assistance until very late in his illness—and even then, the support covered less than 10% of his care costs. Most expenses had to be paid out of pocket by our parents, a burden that weighed heavily on them & will continue in finalizing his end of life care expenses.

His wife, Demetria, has been his sole caregiver for these many years, managing his complex care while running her small business with full staff & in the recent months - having to work 80 hours per week & visiting my dad 2x per day in an end of life facility, morning and night. She has given selflessly and tirelessly, sacrificing her own well-being and putting everything on hold to ensure Victor was loved and cared for every day. Now, as she faces life without him, she must also shoulder the burden of funeral costs and the ongoing demands of their household and business.

The basic funeral services alone are outrageously expensive—well over $30,000—and we are asking for help to provide my dad with the dignified farewell he deserves. This support would not only honor his memory but also allow my mom the space to grieve and heal without the crushing stress of these costs as she is going to need to take some true time off as well to mourn the loss of her partner of nearly 50 years.

Our dad’s life was one of kindness, laughter, courage, and dedication. Whether giving his jacket to a stranger in need or caring for countless family members, he lived by example and left a legacy of love. We hope that by sharing his story, those who knew him, and even those who didn’t, will feel moved to help us celebrate his life and support our family in this difficult time.

If you are able to contribute, no matter how small, it will make a difference. We are grateful for your kindness, your prayers if you believe, and your love. We ask for your support whether that be from small donations or like, sharing, & commenting to honor dad.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
