For the past 14 days, Victor Becker has been in the ICU battling acute heart failure, fluid retention, and a severe lung infection. Since being admitted, Victor has remained on a ventilator to help him breathe. Tomorrow, he will undergo a tracheotomy as the next step in his long and challenging medical journey.

Victor’s road to recovery will be a long one, with no clear timeline for when he will be able to leave the ICU. His parents have been by his side every step of the way — his father traveling back and forth from Florida, staying in hotels to be near him, and his mother taking time off work to care for and support him full-time at the hospital.
