My name is Victor Daniel Rojo Avilleira. Five months ago, I started having serious health problems. that turned out to be chronic kidney disease, Stage 5, caused by long-term hypertension. My kidneys are severely damaged, and I urgently need a kidney transplant to survive. I am 47 years old.

Since my diagnosis, I have been hospitalised and undergoing hemodialysis three times a week at a government-funded private hospital. The care is helping me stay alive, but I still need to cover the costs of treatments, tests, and hospital care. I don’t have health insurance, I have no access to the public healthcare system yet (I am working on it) and I was let go off my job as I was unable to work due to being in hospital.

This is the hardest challenge I’ve ever faced. Every day in the hospital is a reminder of how fragile life is and how big of a second opportunity this is. I am hopeful that with your support, I can pay my hospital bills, continue dialysis, and stay strong as I wait for a transplant. I want to live to see my son grow into a man, and I truly believe that God has given me a chance to start over and take better care of myself.

Mi nombre es Victor Daniel Rojo Avilleira. Hace cinco meses, comencé a tener problemas graves de salud que resultaron ser enfermedad renal crónica, etapa 5, causada por hipertensión de larga duración. Mis riñones están gravemente dañados y necesito urgentemente un trasplante de riñón para sobrevivir. Tengo 47 años.

Desde mi diagnóstico, he estado hospitalizado y recibiendo hemodiálisis tres veces por semana en un hospital privado financiado por el gobierno. La atención me está ayudando a mantenerme con vida, pero aún necesito cubrir los costos de tratamientos, exámenes y cuidado hospitalario. No tengo seguro de salud, no tengo acceso al sistema de salud pública todavía (estoy trabajando en ello) y perdí mi trabajo porque no pude trabajar al estar hospitalizado.

Este es el desafío más difícil que he enfrentado en mi vida. Cada día en el hospital me recuerda lo frágil que es la vida y la magnitud de esta segunda oportunidad que tengo. Tengo la esperanza de que, con su apoyo, pueda pagar mis facturas del hospital, continuar con la diálisis y mantenerme fuerte mientras espero un trasplante. Quiero vivir para ver a mi hijo crecer y convertirse en un hombre, y realmente creo que Dios me ha dado la oportunidad de empezar de nuevo y cuidar mejor de mí mismo.

No puedo hacer esto solo. Cada contribución, sin importar el tamaño, irá directamente a cubrir mis facturas hospitalarias hasta la fecha. Su apoyo, más allá de lo financiero, me brindará esperanza, coraje y la oportunidad de seguir viviendo y estar presente para mi familia.
