Hi, my name is Casey and I’m fundraising to help my family start to rebuild their life. My entire family lives in southeastern Kentucky in Letcher County. Thursday morning my parents house started to flood. My parents Richard Dale and Melanie Sturgill as well as my brothers Dale and Alex Sturgill are now without a home. By four Thursday morning their house had became submerged in water. The water made it all the way up to the second story floor stairs. They did escape with their truck, but were unable to safely leave the area. They were forced to climb the mountain side and attempt to seek shelter as they watched their home get destroyed. They were stranded for nearly 12 hours before they were able to get back into their vehicle and drive to a safer area. My family is a small business owner (Sturgill’s Service Center) and will not be able to work for awhile. If anyone could help them out during this difficult time it would be so appreciated. They would never ask for help themselves but they could really use it right now. Any money will go towards trying to make the house live-able again.
