Help Vicky Return to a Safer, Healthier Home
In February, Vicky experienced a sudden and life-threatening medical emergency that required ICU care and multiple surgeries. What began as a severe abdominal infection became septic, and her survival required aggressive hospital intervention.
We are deeply grateful that she is now in rehabilitation and steadily regaining strength.
As she prepares to return home, her apartment complex has approved a full flooring replacement (except for her bedroom). This is a significant blessing and an important step forward for her long-term safety.

Because Vicky uses a wheelchair and has limited mobility, the current carpeting and uneven flooring have made daily movement difficult and energy-draining. New smooth flooring will:
- Improve wheelchair mobility
- Reduce fall risk
- Improve air quality
- Make daily living safer and more manageable
This upgrade will directly support her recovery and independence.
Why We Are Raising Funds
In order for the flooring work to take place, her apartment must be cleared and then moved back in once construction is complete.
We are organizing volunteers to:
March 15 – Load a U-Haul
March 21 – Move everything back in
There are several heavy items involved, including her powered recliner, industrial sewing equipment, shelving, and furniture.
This fundraiser will help cover:
- U-Haul rental (approximately $300 for 6 days)
- Moving supplies and protective materials
- Unexpected logistical expenses
Her recent medical emergency has already created financial strain through medical bills, temporary rent needs, and vehicle repairs for her wheelchair-accessible van. We are covering as much of this moving project as we can, but any help easing this final step toward bringing her home safely would mean so much.
Our goal is $600.
Every dollar raised will go directly toward preparing her apartment so she can return to a safer, healthier environment.
A Fresh Start
After surviving a critical health crisis, Vicky is working hard in rehabilitation. She is determined, grateful, and hopeful.
This flooring project represents more than new floors. It represents stability, dignity, and a safer daily life.
If you feel moved to help, we are deeply grateful.
