Disaster Relief: Vicky's Recovery from TN Tornado
Donation protected
Vicky Elaine Corlew-Primm, 56, lives in Kingston Springs, TN, as a part of a small community called Bell Town. Bell Town was the place Vicky called home until an EF-2 tornado ripped through the community in the early morning hours of December 11, 2021.
As tornado warnings rang out, Vicky desperately sought greater protection than her mobile home could offer. Upon exiting her shaking home, she was swept away by the tumultuous wind. Her mobile home was blown from its foundation, landing on Vicky from her waist down. After being extricated, she was rushed to Vanderbilt Medical Center, Nashville, TN, where she remains in critical condition (as of 01/11/2022).
Before December 11, 2021, Vicky enjoyed an active and full lifestyle. Her life involved spending time with family and friends, participating in church ministries and community activities, and helping others.
After graduating from high school, Vicky furthered her education studying, training and working in the health care field. She has advanced and worked over 33 years at Saint Thomas Medical Center West, Nashville, TN.
Outside of work, her love and compassion for people is evidenced through her Christian ministry. Vicky is an ordained and licensed minister. She has served over 15 years in ministry: teaching, evangelizing and preaching the Word of God. Vicky became a member of the Volunteer State Mass Choir, which led to traveling and performing in various cities and out of the country.
Now, as Vicky battles to recover from her traumatic experience and injuries, her family is establishing this fund in hopes of helping Vicky on her long road to recovery. All funds will go to a separate bank account that Vicky will be able to access. Vicky's home, belongings, and Peaches, her dog and companion of 16 years, did not survive the tornado.
The outpouring of love and support from family, friends, and community members has helped Vicky through the numerous surgeries to date, and her family hopes that this selfless generosity will continue through this campaign.
The requested funds will help Vicky in the following ways:
- Help build a new, safer place for Vicky to call home
- Help pay for continued medical expenses
- Help pay for her post-surgery physical therapy and rehabilitation
- Help pay to recover or replace some of the belongings Vicky lost to the tornado
- Help pay for clearing and cleaning of her damaged property
