Hi Vicky and Ben here,

I'm a paraplegic and my husband is a retired disabled veteran. We live in the Los Angeles area with our adult son, who is also without work, and dog Roxy.

I became disabled eight years ago from a massive infection that entered my spine. I now get around with a wheelchair. Ben has neurological problems with his arm and was just diagnosed with arthritis in his spine. He gets around but with a lot of pain.

We are experiencing a great deal of difficulty with our finances. Due to ongoing problems receiving government benefits we are entitled to and the current unforgiving economic climate, we are now in need of financial help in order to keep our house and pay our monthly bills.
