Help Vickie with ongoing medical expenses
Vickie and Wayne got sick on their first day of travel heading back to Minnesota. They drove three days terribly sick but Wayne knew he had to get Vickie to MN or they might be stuck somewhere with no family. They made it to MN and immediately went to Hutchinson E.R. Wayne tested positive for COVID and Vickie was initially negative. So they sent them home to rest and recover. The next day they called with the results of Vickie’s culture and she too tested positive for COVID. They waited a week but continued to decline so they went back to the hospital and this time they admitted them with extremely low oxygen levels. Wayne was in the hospital for two days and recovered well. Vickie, however, continued to decline. She spent a week in Hutchinson before being transferred by ambulance to Regions Hospital in St. Paul. She still continued to decline and a conference was held with family and doctors as they decided it was absolutely necessary to put Vickie on a ventilator. She was too weak and too sick to fight any longer. They put her in a medically induced coma and put Vickie to sleep in hopes to heal. It was a 50% chance of survival. The family said their “goodbyes” and “I love you’s” and had to wait. God showed up and held Vickie the whole time she was asleep. She spent 12 days on the vent before waking. God healed her when she was at the brink of death! He saved Vickie! She is a miracle! God is so good! She was then transferred to Dassel Lakeside Care Center for several weeks of rehabilitation. She is re-learning to sit, stand, and walk again. It’s going to be a long road ahead with large expenses to endure. The cost of the nursing home, the ongoing medications, ongoing oxygen.. Vickie is currently still fighting for herself to get her body to work well and on top of it is now getting bills for hospital stays, past scans and tests. The expenses are worth it but difficult to bear. If you’re able to help donate to show Wayne and Vickie how loved they are, it would be deeply appreciated. If a heartfelt prayer is what you can afford, that’s just as deeply appreciated.
