Help Vickie Regain Mobility After Tragic Accident

Donation protected

Hello, my name is Kim, and in September of last year, my mother and father-in-law (Vickie and Donald) were walking to their vehicle when they were hit by a car outside a restaurant in Live Oak, FL. Donald suffered minor injuries; however, Vickie, who was in a wheelchair, was pushed through the restaurant wall into the dining area. She was life-flighted to a Gainesville hospital where she was treated for multiple critical injuries. Since that time, she has had to have her right leg amputated above the knee and has spent extensive time in rehabilitation centers and therapy. Even though she was in a wheelchair, she had previous use of her legs, but now she is unable to get into or out of a vehicle.

This loss has set the family back a lot of money, and they are now in need of a mobility vehicle that is able to accommodate her new situation. We are asking for any help you may give to be able to purchase them a mobility/handicap accessible van so that she can go to her future doctor appointments and therapy sessions that will be a constant in their life now. They are a specialized vehicle and cost quite a bit. Please help us give her back a little of the mobility she has lost through this tragic accident.
