Vickie is a loving wife and mother, a proud Mimi, a Christian, a pet lover and a great friend to many. She cares generously for those she loves, whether it is picking up her grandchildren from daycare early to play with them or sending care packages to her son in college to let him know he is missed. Vickie also enjoys taking pictures and creating photo gifts for friends and family. She has been a listening ear, a helping hand, and a cheerleader for her kids, husband and friends. 

Recently, Vickie was experiencing some pain her in her hip, and we thought she had pulled a muscle while walking her precious dogs. The pain persisted and worsened. After several tests and scans, the doctors told Vickie the news that no one wants to hear: “You have cancer.” The experts are still working to determine what kind of cancer it is…it might be gynecological or gastrointestinal. Over the course of just a week since her diagnosis, the pain has increased, and we have been told that the cancer has spread to her back and shoulders. Vickie needs the best and quickest treatment possible. She and her husband, Chris, will be traveling to Phoenix/Goodyear, Arizona for care at The Cancer Center of America. 

We are not 100% sure what the course of treatment will be, but she will start with radiation of the hip, shoulder and back for five days starting Monday, March 22, 2021. A surgery to remove the tumors from her ovary and abdominal area will be completed shortly after. Chemotherapy following her surgery is currently planned as well.

It is our turn to support Vickie and Chris and surround them with prayers, positive words, and thoughts. We want to make their life as easy as possible as they focus their energy on treatment. All donations received will go towards medical, food and travel expenses and are greatly appreciated.
