My name is Vicki and I am reaching out to raise desperately needed funds for my two senior dogs who both require urgent and expensive medical treatment. I am heartbroken that I cannot afford by any means to pay for the vet care they desperately require.

Firstly there is 11 year old Toy Poodle Ruby whom I adopted a year ago after a friend asked me to take in as her family no longer wanted her. Ruby was left alone all day then terrorised by five children when the family was home. If you approach her with your hand she jerks and trembles with fear. According to her prior owners she had not been to the vet in 8 years and has only 2 teeth left. She was also used as a breeding dog and never desexed. This has resulted in her having multiple mammary tumours. Ruby requires the whole mammary chains on both sides being removed and she also needs to be desexed. The approximate cost is $4000.00. She is a very loving dog who is constantly by my side.

Mia is 15 years old and was rescued along with her sister by Animal Liberation Victoria from a dog hoarder. Mia has a grade 5 heart murmur but it’s also a valve problem that doesn’t shut off properly and the blood flows backwards instead of into her heart causing fluid build-up in her lungs and chest cavity. She also has severe arthritis . Her medications cost $126 a month. Cardiologist visit is $970.00. Our Vet also believes she has Cushings disease. The blood test required is $560.00 which also involves on going tests and medication. Despite this she is still a very happy dog and still has a high quality of life.

Due to a botched knee surgery which cut the nerve in my leg I live with constant chronic nerve pain and am unable to work. My sole income is a disability pension which after rent and bills leaves little to live on. My dogs are like children to me and are my constant companions. Any amount of money donated will mean more to me than you can imagine.
