Help Vicki Hashey Nanni and The Shin Pond Pub

In November 2020, our friend Vicki Hashey Nanni was forced to close the Shin Pond Pub after nearly two decades in business.  She was shutdown due to Covid 19 restrictions in March like most of the businesses in the state.  She held on for 8 months, continuing to pay rent and hoping the restrictions would be lifted so the pub could open again.  When it became clear that these restrictions imposed by the governor would not be lifted anytime soon she was forced to make a heart breaking decision to close the pub.

  As many of you know, the Shin Pond Pub is not just a place to grab a drink.  The pub is a pillar of the Northern Maine community.  A place for new friends and old friends to gather and be social.  A place to warm up after a long day riding trails, hunting, or winding down after a long work day.  Vicki used the pub to organize many events for charity including her cancer walks, ice fishing derbies, Veteran events, free meals on Sundays, and The Shin Pond Pub Christmas Party for the kids.  The Shin Pond Pub has always been an important part of the fabric of the Patten, Mount chase area.  Visitors come year after year to experience the atmosphere which is unmatched by any other venue in Maine.  For the locals, it's our favorite place away from home.

  Now about Vicki.... She is the most caring, selfless, thoughtful lady most of us have ever met.  She works hard raising money for people all year, every year and never asks for anything in return.  For years, she has raised a small fortune to assist cancer patients in the area, always having funds on hand for anyone who needs heating help, transportation to appointments etc.  She honors our Veterans throughout the year with various activities.  She hosts a Christmas party for any child in need every year at the pub.  All these activities are in addition to working a ton of hours slinging drinks and putting up with all of us.

  Winter is a tough time of year for everyone and this year is going to be especially tough due to all the fallout from this pandemic.  Vicki needs our help.  Let's give back to a woman who has done nothing but give to others her whole life.
