Vicki and Allen Beckner, my sister and brother-in-law, have always been the kind of people who show up for others with open hearts and helping hands. Over the past six months, they have faced a series of challenges that would be overwhelming for anyone. Both have endured serious health issues, including multiple hospitalizations and surgeries. Just this week, Vicki returned home after undergoing surgery for cancer in her face, and today, Allen is having surgery to repair a painful and serious GI issue. As if these health battles weren’t enough, Allen was told he would be downsized from his job in Albany on the very day he was preparing for surgery.
Vicki and Allen moved from Tennessee to Albany about a year ago for Allen’s job, leaving behind their daughters and the community they love. Now, with Allen’s job loss and mounting medical bills, they simply want to return home to Chattanooga to be near family and rebuild their lives. The funds raised here will help them cover costly medical bills, moving and rent expenses, and basic living needs as they make their way back to Tennessee.
Vicki and Allen epitomize friendship, love, and graciousness. They would never ask for help themselves, but they are in deep need and could use our collective support to get through what has been an incredibly difficult year. A little given by many will go a very long way to get them back home safe, sound, and healthy. Thank you for considering a donation to help them on their journey home.
