Help Vichai Recover From His Stroke

Hi, my name is Ing Vue and I am fundraising for my father, Vichai.

My father suffered from a stroke on June 21, 2021, the day after father’s day. While my father was asleep in bed, my mother and I went out grocery shopping that day. We called my father at around 7 a.m. to remind him that my little brother was starting his first day of summer school in seventh grade and that he needed to wake my brother up. But my father didn’t answer so we assumed he was in a deep sleep.

After two hours had passed we decided to call my father again to see if he was able to send my brother off to school. But again, there was no response from him. We began to sense that something was wrong because my father always answers his phone in the morning. We headed straight back home to check on him and found him, still in bed, with his head jerking viciously left to right and his arms flailing in the air. We immediately dialed 911 and he was taken to the hospital. That’s when the doctors gave him a CAT scan and found that he had suffered a massive stroke.

We learned from the doctors that the stroke had damaged seventy percent of his left brain. Hearing this news devastated us because of how serious it was. In addition to the stroke, a part of his left brain had swelled so much that surgery was needed to spare his life. It was a very difficult choice to make. We knew that the result of the surgery would not allow him to be normal again, but we made that sacrifice and hoped that things would get better. He had to be fed through a feeding tube since he was unconscious and he also needed an oxygen tube since he couldn’t breathe on his own. He is not able to speak nor move the right side of his body.

Ever since then, my mother and I have been struggling to pay for bills and rent. Without my father’s help we don’t know how long we would last. He was the one who worked really hard to help pay the bills. But now that he’s gone things have been rough. The fundraiser money will help pay for outstanding hospital bills and the rest will cover living expenses. We will be sincerely grateful for any donations made as soon as possible. With a little help from the fundraising community we can at least get through the days until things get better.
