My name is Vic Peterson, and I’m raising funds to help care for my mom, Mary Peterson. For the last ten years, I’ve been cooking for her and taking care of her at home, but now she needs more support than I can provide. Mary is currently in hospice with assisted-living care at Willow Springs in Palm Desert, California. I live in Newport Beach, so I travel out every week—usually Thursday to Monday—to spend time with her, cook her favorite meals, and make sure she’s comfortable. The costs of gas, lodging, and food add up quickly, and her recent ICU stay has drained my savings even further.

Mary has always been a wonderful mother, not just to me and my sister, but to all my friends growing up. After football games in high school, everyone called her 'Mother Mary' because she would cook, clean, and take care of all of us. Many of my close friends still send their love to her today. She’s lost two sons and is now the last of her nine siblings, but she remains strong and kind. My cousins try to visit when they can, and she still looks forward to their calls. She’s a good woman who wants to see God, and I want to spend as much time with her as possible during this stage of her life.
