Short and Sweets Bakery is a locally owned and operated bakery in Lubbock, Texas. When she was in high school, Victoria started baking as a fun side business in her parents' kitchen. This fun side business continued after she graduated and stepped into her adult life. In 2017, Victoria married her high school sweetheart Nate, and together they made the decision to bring Nate on to help run their cottage bakery from home. In 2019, the Short and Sweets cottage bakery had grown large enough for Vic and Nate to expand into their own brick and mortar. Victoria had already come across a potential dream spot back in 2012 when she entered Cactus Alley Courtyard, and as luck would have it, the Courtyard had an open space. For 5 years, through the change of becoming a brick and mortar, COVID, and becoming new parents, Vic and Nate have built up and kept their little bakery thriving in the Courtyard.

In late September 2024, Cactus Alley was obtained by a new owner. With the introduction of new owners, an opportunity to move spaces inside Cactus Alley came up. This has allowed Vic and Nate to make the space truly theirs, but has not come without roadblocks. They have been closed for over a month, and now face unexpected construction costs.

The funds from this campaign will help Short and Sweets to complete renovations and create a cute space ready to operate in time for their 6 year anniversary of opening their shop. They are so grateful for all the support they have received over the years and hope to develop a space that can continue to serve the Lubbock community.
