Ms. Vi An Vo, our amazing MIS sixth-grade science teacher who has worked in HPISD for 16 years, needs help from our community. During the winter storm in February, pipes burst in Vi An’s condo and the water damage to her condo was extensive. The entire unit had to be gutted. 


The insurance adjuster recently determined the portion of the damage that the insurance company will cover, and Vi An is faced with a settlement amount that will not cover the many additional repairs she needs to get her home back to a livable state. This week has tested Vi An’s fortitude as the first bill from the contractor for the demolition work was about ⅓ the total amount of her insurance settlement. Her condo is not livable and Vi An has relocated into an apartment with her pets, and is unsure of the timeline for work to even begin on her home because the condo management company has not yet repaired the fire suppression system.
