Help Veteran with Legionnaires Disease Keep Home

Hello, my name is Amanda Allen and I am fundraising for a fellow veteran and close friend, Todd Snelling and his wonderful family while he battles Legionnaires disease.

Todd is a host to the TTR Rev-Nation Podcast with myself, Shannon Book, and J-Rod, a husband and father of 5 awesome kids, and a man that would quite literally give the shirt off his back to help someone in need. It is his turn to get help and I ask you all to please pray for him and his loved ones as well as donate if at all possible. Asking for help is never easy so I want to be the liaison for them so that they can focus on Todd and his care.

Todd is suffering from Legionnaires disease which in short, is a very severe form of pneumonia. This disease comes from inhalation of a certain bacteria found in water &/or soil. We do not know specifically what caused this yet but do know that it is typically found in water systems such as AC units and such. According to the Mayo clinic "The bacterium Legionella pneumophila is responsible for most cases of Legionnaires' disease. Outdoors, legionella bacteria survive in soil and water, but rarely cause infections. However, legionella bacteria can multiply in water systems made by humans, such as air conditioners.

Although it's possible to get Legionnaires' disease from home plumbing, most outbreaks have occurred in large buildings, perhaps because complex systems allow the bacteria to grow and spread more easily. Todd has been in critical condition since December 11th when he was admitted, and he is still fighting for his life. His wife Yvette and kids Kerri, Ricky, Abbi, Grace, Tyler, his mother, and the rest of the family are incredibly strong and by his side every step of the way. This disease caused him organ failure and infected lungs full of fluid. The prognosis was not promising for survival and It came to the point where ECMO was something being considered, as well as lung transplant. His oxygen levels were deathly low, his kidneys were failing, and It is a miracle that he is still with us, Praise God! Their son is currently active duty in the Army and has been contacted to come and be with his father and loved ones.

As of today, Dec. 21 2021, Todd's condition is making progress in the right direction! His lungs are clearing out, oxygen levels are up, his kidneys are starting to function again, and he's being weaned off the ventilator and sedation. He will be sent to the Long Term care facility in Katy Texas for continued care required to recover and rehabilitate from this. It will be a long road ahead but he is strong and so is his wife, family, and team beside him. On top of this, they are facing some financial issues with him unexpectedly being out of work. The long term extent of his injuries from this disease are not fully known yet so we cannot definitively say how long until he will be back to work, or if he will at all. That is something we will deal with as time progresses.

This fundraiser is put together in hopes of bringing relief to this amazing family. As you can imagine, with unexpected situations there are unexpected costs which will coincide with falling behind on necessary expenses. The last thing we want is for them to lose their home, or anything else for that matter. There are costs with his medical care, the home mortgage, his families transportation to and from the Healthcare facilities, possible hotel stays for them, food, essential bills, etc. We need to get the mortgage caught up immediately or else they are looking at possibly losing their home. Yvette is working but between work, being there for her husband, handling all of the moving parts with coordinating care and the family, she is overwhelmed. Todd needs support through this but so does his family and they all need our helping hand to carry them through this incredibly hard journey. The amount of prayers that have flooded in from all over the globe for Todd and his family is amazing and means the world to them. I ask for everyone to at least keep them in your prayers even if you are unable to donate.
