Help Disabled U.S. Army Veteran David Campbell

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Dean Pedrotti and I am the Co-Founder of the Casa Veterans Ministry at the Franciscan Renewal Center in Scottsdale Arizona and a retired Captain of the Phoenix Fire Department.

On behalf of the Casa Veterans Ministry, I am raising funds to assist David Campbell, a triple Bronze Star Recipient and U.S. Army Veteran, and his wife Melissa, to raise $16,000 to cover unexpected roof repair bills during a critical time in David's life.

David, a disabled Gulf War Vet, is very well known to police officers, firefighters and paramedics around Arizona. From 2012 to 2016, he was a featured speaker and panelist in "Frontline on the Home Front" -- a partnership between the Arizona Coalition for Military Families and the Phoenix Fire Department, to train first responders across the state to be better prepared to respond to veterans in crisis.

Since then, David has done quarterly presentations at Crisis Intervention Training (CIT) programs for law enforcement officers around the Valley. He is especially well-known to Mesa, Chandler, Scottsdale and Gilbert police officers.

In addition, David is a facilitator for the Healing of Memories for Veterans workshops held bi-annually at the Franciscan Renewal Center through the Healing of Memories Institute in South Africa (see https://healing-memories.org/) to assist veterans in their healing journey. David is also a Co-Founder of the Mesa Veterans Center and has been an Ambassador for many years for Soldiers Best Friend, which pairs service dogs with eligible veterans.

David has shared his military experience with a variety of service organizations over the years in support of all U.S. service members, veterans and military families.

In 2014, David was selected as the first veteran to receive the "Salutes Arizona Veterans" award sponsored by ABC 15 and Sanderson Ford. (see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I-_Rc-3cmUw).

How You Can Play A Role

David is facing extreme hardship right now.

Following a severe rear-end vehicle accident many years ago, and with healing thought to be slowed by his chemical exposure to burn pits in the Gulf War, David had to have a below-the-knee amputation in 2015.

This past year, David's medical condition significantly worsened and he had to have an above-the-knee amputation in November 2022. He is rehabilitating at home and in a lot of pain. His wife, Melissa, a recently retired federal law enforcement officer, has become David's full-time caregiver as a result of his medical situation.

How You Can Help

On behalf of David, we are raising funds to pay for their recent roof repairs and mold mitigation, a total of $16,000.

Any additional monies we raise will be used to help pay for food delivery during his rehabilitation, transportation expenses (he can no longer drive), as well as pay for any uncovered medical or equipment expenses.

Thank you so much for donating!
