Help Vet Turned Artist Replace Stolen Equipment
Donation protected
Sometimes it's hard to ask for help so I'm asking on behalf of my friend Willis.
Willis is a veteran and a photographer in Atlanta who recently had all of his equipment stolen while he was shooting at a new location. His camera and equipment are his livelihoods.
Willis is currently attending art school, working full-time, and shoots the culture of Atlanta in his free time. His work gives light to a sub-culture of Atlanta that is often ignored, generalized, and dismissed. Willis says the captions included with his work, "create a narrative that directs the conversation into something bigger."
For me, his work shares a very personal knowledge and understanding of a culture and people I grew up with and love. I currently live in the Bay and I'm learning how to honor the culture that was here before I arrived, but whenever I miss home, I visit Willis' Instagram page @_TrapLanta_ and suddenly I'm back in Atlanta.
I want to help Willis get back on his feet as soon as possible as we know how difficult the pandemic has made life for Black folks and Black artists.
Below is a list of the items that were stolen:
Nikon D90
Nikon D7500
iPad Pro w/ 1 Terabyte memory
iPhone 8
gimbal
35mm lens
70-200mm lens
iPad Stylus
Camera bag
The amount I'm requesting is a rough estimate I put together myself on behalf of Willis. I tried to get as close to the exact amount of the items stolen. I do not want to ask for more than what is needed.
Your support is greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
