My sister Veronica is 32 years old, a vibrant, loving mom to her two beautiful children: Jayla (6) and Julian (11). In October 2024, she was diagnosed with Invasive lobular carcinoma, stage 4 breast cancer, after already spending the previous year managing the challenges of rheumatoid arthritis.
Since then, her life has been shaped by treatment. She receives care for both conditions on a regular schedule, cancer treatments every three weeks, RA treatments every two, and gets scans every ~90 days to monitor her progress. It’s a lot to carry, but she does it with grace, determination, humor, and unwavering love for her kids.
What’s harder to see and harder to share is everything in between.
On social media, Veronica shows up with a smile. She posts her kids, shares her wins, and stays hopeful. To many, it might seem like she’s back to normal. But the truth is more complicated. She’s doing everything she can to stay well, manage chronic pain, and it takes a toll, physically, emotionally, and financially.
She’s no longer able to work full-time, and while her fiancé, Dele, has been a steady support, and our family has come together to help with housing and care, there are still real gaps, especially when it comes to daily expenses, transportation to appointments, and the impact of lost income.
This fundraiser is about giving Veronica a little more breathing room. So she can focus on healing. On raising Jayla and Julian. On finding moments of joy in the midst of a tough journey, without constantly worrying about what’s slipping through the cracks.
Your donation, no matter the size, will go directly toward helping her and her kids feel a little more secure. And beyond the financial support, every message, share, and bit of encouragement is felt deeply by all of us.
We’ll keep this page updated and we’re planning an uplifting community celebration in 2026 near her birthday, a way to keep the love going and remind her that she’s not in this alone.
With love & gratitude,
Falisha (Veronica’s sister), on behalf of all who love her
