Help Veronica Stay Housed
Veronica’s facing foreclosure and needs $5,000 by July 31 to keep her home. She’s done so much for others—now it’s our turn to show up for her.
Hey friends—Sarah here. I’m organizing this on behalf of one of my oldest friends, Veronica Adams, who’s currently trying to hold onto her home.
If you know Veronica, you probably already know how much time and energy she pours into other people. She’s a fundraiser, an organizer, a coach, and a movement-builder. She’s spent the last decade helping folks get what they need to stay housed, stay fed, stay afloat.
Now, she’s in crisis herself.
After a tough year financially—one full of inconsistent income, delayed paychecks, and giving way more than she had to spare—she fell behind on her mortgage. Moving forward, she has what she needs to pay her bills and her mortgage. She’s taken on new contracts, grown her coaching work, and finally has enough income to match her monthly budget.
But she needs $5,000 right now to reinstate her loan and stop the foreclosure process.
This is a short-term ask. Just enough to buy her breathing room and keep her housed while she keeps moving forward. And I just want to say—this woman has shown up for so many people.
In just the last year:
- She raised $25,000 for a single mom and her kid after a fire.
- She let someone live with her, rent-free, for almost a year.
- She’s been a stable, low-cost housing option for other friends in crisis.
- And right now—while dealing with her own housing emergency—she’s still running a GoFundMe for someone else.
I’m not asking for more than she needs. I’m just asking that we offer her lifeline so she can stay in her home and keep doing the work she’s meant to do.
If you can help—thank you. If you can share—thank you. It all matters.
Let’s get Veronica over this hump.
With love,
Sarah
What the funds will cover:
$5,000: Covers the full mortgage reinstatement and helps get her out of foreclosure—including some of the legal costs of the foreclosure.
Stretch cushion: If we go over the $5K goal, it’ll help cover the full $3,000 in legal costs and give Veronica a little breathing room for the month ahead.
Deadline: Funds are needed by July 31 to stop foreclosure proceedings.
