My name is Veronica and today I had to choose to save my cat Rita or euthanize her. Just thinking about putting her down broke my heart, and I could not bring myself to do that to her when I could clearly see she is fighting for her life!

Rita is a sassy girl full of personality!
She is the alpha cat of the house and ensures that all our other cats are following cat code. She is not afraid to confront any cat or dog that tries to steal her food! She is picky about who is allowed to touch her and refuses to share her water bowl with other cats.

Today I am asking for help to save her!
I rescued Rita from a friend who couldn’t keep her, and she’s been a part of my family for 6 years since she was about 6 months old.

She suddenly became sick over the weekend, and the vet is worried about how bad her condition looks. Due to my work schedule, I could not bring her in to the vet until today.

I still don’t know what her diagnosis is, but she is not eating, urinating, or passing bowel movements and is severely dehydrated with a low body temperature. The current vet bill fee is at $849, but he said Rita will need to stay overnight with IV fluids and other injections, which cost $245 per night.

As of now, the vet bill includes:
- Office Exam: $49
- X-Rays: $230
- Blood Work: $215
- Urine Test: $55
- IV Insertion: $55
- IV Fluids: $65 (per night)
- Hospital Stay: $180 (per night)

These bills do not include treatment, but I won’t know those numbers until the exams are completed.

I am using credit cards and borrowing money from family, but it won’t be enough to save her. Rita will possibly need further vet care once a diagnosis is given after her tests are completed.

I know we are all struggling financially these days with basic necessities being so expensive, but if you can’t help donate, I am begging you to please SHARE RITA’s GoFundMe link on your social media platforms

I exhausted my Care Credit limit with personal expenses and by recently taking another cat of mine to the vet for an emergency tail amputation 2 months ago. I love my cats and will not give up on them without a fight.

Thank you to all who donated or shared this link❤️
