Boozhoo friends.
On May 30, our family experienced something we never imagined. While attending an event at Mears Park in St. Paul, Veronica was struck when a large tree unexpectedly fell.
We are incredibly grateful that her injuries were not life-threatening, but the physical, emotional, and financial impact has been significant. Since the accident, Veronica has been dealing with pain, limited mobility, medical appointments, recovery needs, and the challenges that come with healing from a traumatic event.
As many of you know, Veronica has dedicated much of her life to helping others through her work in Indigenous communities, education, animal welfare, and mutual aid efforts. She is usually the person organizing support for someone else. Today, we are asking for support for her.
Donations will help cover medical co-pays, medications, recovery supplies, mobility equipment, transportation needs, grocery and meal delivery costs, and other expenses that have arisen while she focuses on healing. Family members have stepped in to help with daily care and support, but the unexpected costs continue to add up.
Our goal is $5,000 to help ease the financial burden during recovery. Any contribution, no matter the size, is deeply appreciated. If you are unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser with others would mean the world to us.
Miigwech for your kindness, support, prayers, and encouragement as Veronica continues to recover.
