On September 25, 2023, everything changed for Veronica.
What started as a normal day, leaving work, and heading home, turned into a life-altering tragedy, when a drunk driver with multiple prior DUIs and no insurance crashed into her vehicle.
The impact was catastrophic. Veronica was trapped inside her car and had to be rescued using the “Jaws of Life.” She was rushed from one hospital to another due to the severity of her injuries and the need for specialized trauma care. She suffered devastating, life-threatening injuries, including:
A broken neck
A spinal injury
Multiple rib fractures (9th–11th ribs)
A broken foot
Severe abdominal trauma, including degloving injuries
Extensive internal damage caused by the force of the seatbelt
She underwent major abdominal reconstructive surgery just to survive.
A Long, Painful Road to Recovery...
Since the accident, Veronica has been unable to return to work. Over the past few years, she has endured multiple hospital stays, surgeries, and extensive rehabilitation.
And the journey isn’t over...
On February 13, 2026, she had to undergo yet another major abdominal reconstructive surgery—bringing more physical, emotional, and financial challenges. Today, Veronica is still fighting to heal.

Veronica is more than her injuries. She is a loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. A hardworking woman who has always taken pride in providing for herself and showing up for others. She’s known for her strength, her kindness, her faith, and her good heart. But right now, she needs us.
