My dear friend is facing one of the most difficult chapters of her life, and I’m reaching out on her behalf to ask for your compassion and support.

Veronica is facing an overwhelming health battle. She has been diagnosed with both Rheumatoid Arthritis and Polymyalgia Rheumatica—debilitating autoimmune diseases that cause severe pain and impacts the muscles, joints, eyes, and internal organs. In addition, she’s been diagnosed with heart failure and a neurological disorder that affects her brain and spinal cord, causing chronic pain, difficulty with balance, and significant mobility issues.

These conditions have made some everyday tasks nearly impossible. Veronica struggles to walk, use her hands, or care for herself without assistance. She’s undergone countless appointments with specialists, hospital visits, extensive testing, surgery, and physical therapy—and she’s preparing for yet another surgery soon.

Because of this illness, she hasn't been able to work since December. For someone who has dedicated her life to others — as both a teacher and an artist — not being in the classroom or creating art has been emotionally and financially devastating.
