Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers,

I am reaching out on behalf of a dear and beloved friend, Veronica Garcia, a devoted mother from Brooklyn, NY, who recently suffered an unimaginable loss. A devastating fire tore through her home, leaving her and her 2-year-old son, Jonathan, along with their puppy, Bolt, with nothing but the clothes on their backs.

The fire destroyed everything—clothes, furniture, and cherished memories—and the damage to the building is so severe that it may take months before she can even see if

anything is salvageable. Right now, the Red Cross has placed Veronica and Jonathan in a hotel, but that support ends soon. After that, the future is uncertain. She is waiting for temporary housing, but if that falls through, the only option left is a shelter.

Through all of this, Veronica remains strong, grateful that she and her son are safe, but the reality of having to start over with absolutely nothing is overwhelming. This is where we can come together to help.

We are raising funds to help Veronica and Jonathan with:

Basic essentials like clothing, food, and toiletries
Temporary housing and rent assistance for potential next place.
Furniture, baby supplies, and home necessities when they find a new place
Care for Bolt, who has been Jonathan’s source of comfort during this difficult time
