Help Veronica get to the Mayo Clinic

Veronica is turning five this July. Since she was two we have been searching for a diagnosis.
She has been to countless specialists who just haven’t been equipped to find the answer for her. Finally we have gotten Veronica an appointment at the pediatric Mayo Clinic in Rochester Minnesota for this September.  My husband and I are hopeful that they can figure this out. However we need help getting her there. 


All of this began when she was two and it has gotten worse as she becomes older and more active. She has a heat intolerance with a scary side effect. When she gets too warm her skin begins turning purple and painful. If we cannot cool her off her skin can begin to swell. If she has any injury to her skin such as a bee sting her skin swells severely.  Steroids and other meds have not been very effective in reducing the swelling. 
In addition she has fatigue issues that affect her daily life and her eye muscles. We think her immune issues and fatigue are related but don’t know the cause. The Mayo Clinic will have a team of specialists that will work on her case together to hopefully find the answer. 


 She has had extensive testing through allergy and they have been unable to find an allergen causing her reactions. She has been tested for certain disorders that usually cause these symptoms but it’s always negative. The doctors believe it’s something rare they haven’t seen before. She has been part of panels where dozens of doctors see her and go over her medical history and try to help.

 
Any amount could help us reach our goal. The money would be towards our travel,lodging, and medical expenses of this trip.

Veronica će u julu ove godine navršiti pet godina. Od njene dvije godine tražili smo dijagnozu. Bila je u bezbrojnim specijalistima koji jednostavno nisu bili opremljeni da pronađu odgovor za nju. Konačno smo dobili Veronicu na sastanku u pedijatrijskoj klinici Mayo u Rochesteru u Minesoti. Moj suprug i ja se nadamo da će to shvatiti. Međutim, potrebna nam je pomoć da je dovedemo tamo.
Sve je to počelo kada je imala dvije godine i postajalo je sve gore kada je postala starija i aktivnija. Ona ima intoleranciju toplote sa zastrašujućim sporednim efektom. Kada postane pretopla, koža joj postaje ljubičasta i bolna. Ako je ne možemo ohladiti, njena koža može početi da nateže. Ako ima bilo kakvu povredu na koži kao što je pčela ubode, koža joj jako bubri. Steroidi i drugi lekovi nisu bili veoma efikasni u smanjenju otoka. Pored toga, ima problema sa zamorima koji utiču na njen svakodnevni život i mišiće oka. Mislimo da su njena imunološka pitanja i zamor povezani, ali ne znaju uzrok. Klinika Mayo će imati tim stručnjaka koji će zajedno raditi na njenom slučaju kako bi mogli pronaći odgovor.
Imala je iscrpna testiranja alergijom i nisu bili u mogućnosti da nađu alergen koji izaziva njene reakcije. Testirana je na određene poremećaje koji obično izazivaju ove simptome, ali je uvijek negativna. Doktori vjeruju da je to nešto što nisu vidjeli prije. Bila je deo panela na kojima je vidi desetine doktora i prelaze kroz njenu medicinsku istoriju i pokušavaju da pomognu.
Bilo koji iznos bi nam mogao pomoći da dostignemo naš cilj. Novac bi bio za naše putovanje, smeštaj i medicinske troškove ovog putovanja.
