Help Veronica Gil fight cancer! #FUCANCER

Hello friends and family,

First of all, I can’t believe I’m actually opening up about this. It’s a journey of mine that feels so private, dark and tourments me on a daily basis. This feels extremely vulnerable to open up about it. So here I go. You know, as a little girl, I would line up my dolls and name them all Rosalinda, I would pretend they were all my kids and I would feed them all with my tea set and use leaves from the ground to feed them all. Later as as a teenager I always thought I would get married and have kids and become a Chiropractor. I believed that I had the hands to cure people of pain. I never thought I would grow up to get cancer at the age of 42. This was not in my plans or dreams, but it’s here.

As some of you know, I was diagnosed with endometrial (uterus)cancer in September of 2022. It’s felt like an emotional rollercoaster since then. Shortly after I was diagnosed, I went through a major surgery to remove the cancer and 21” tumor that was rapidly growing inside me. I spent 8 days in the hospital, with the removal of my appendix, and a radical hysterectomy, it immediately pushed me into a surgically induced menopause. These days in the hospital felt like the longest 8 days of my life, I was still in shock and couldn’t believe this is what my life turned into. I spent 8 weeks at home recovering before I started my 6 months of chemotherapy. Chemotherapy was rough on my body, and after my first treatment my hair started falling out, then my eyebrows started went. This was the hardest thing I’ve ever had to mentally and physically, but I made it! At the end of chemo I was told by my Dr that I was in remission, the best news ever!!!!! However, she did inform me that I had a few lesions on my spleen that they weren’t sure if it was a cyst or reminantce of the cancer. A PET scan later showed I was cancer free. There was light at the end of the tunnel for me and my family!!!

6 short months later, my bloodwork spiked and testing showed that the cancer had made an appearance again in my spleen, the spots that were cancer free were no longer that and I got the news that the spots have grown 30%. My heart dropped and I immediately thought of my kids, partner, family and friends. So, January 2024 of this year, I am saddened to share that I am back in active treatment.

Unfortunately, as I shared above, the original treatment I was in at Kaiser was unsuccessful. I switched Dr’s and I’m now being seen at UCSF my Dr’s and have given me options for treatment one is a clinical trial, that I found out I qualified for on Friday! This time I would like to take a stronger approach with integrative therapy, combining Western Medicine with a holistic approach. This will require me to relocate to from the Bay Area to Arizona for 6 months, to get treatment 3 times a week, this treatment is going to cost upwards of $50,000k for 6 months with relocation and living costs. It breaks down to $22k every 12 weeks @og treatment and it looks like I’ll be there 24 weeks $44k total (6 months)

I need your help to fight this cancer! It’s not my time to go, and I can’t leave my kids! So, I am here humbly asking for your support. The financial burden has been very heavy on me with trying to keep up with all my medical bills, I would be forever grateful if you could donate any amount, so that I can apply it to my cancer treatments and relocation costs.

Help me fight this

Time is of the essence family and friends. Your prayers and support are equally meaningful. Thank you so much. ❤️

Lots of love,

Veronica
