My name is Verónica. I am an indie game developer and animator based in Chicago. Recently, I shared a few shots from a game I’ve been developing, inspired by Taíno culture across the Caribbean. As a Puerto Rican woman, my deep love for my island first led me to pitch this project to a company, but it was dismissed. I decided to create it for myself, never expecting that posting a small snippet would receive such incredible support.

So many of you have expressed how much this game means as a way to bring representation to our communities, to honor our ancestors, and our islands throughout the Caribbean in a way we have yet to see in this industry.

I am creating this fundraiser to fully dedicate myself to this title, to research for accurate representation, to develop and to cover costs such as legal support and bringing other artists on board.
