On January 7, 2025, Vernon Ray, Jr., a beloved Philadelphia-based photographer, experienced a devastating loss when his car was broken into and his equipment was stolen, including many essential tools, a laptop, and photo/video camera equipment. This equipment is not just a collection of items; it’s the foundation of Vernon’s livelihood and his ability to serve our community through his powerful work.
Vernon’s photography does more than capture moments—it uplifts voices, tells stories, and makes people feel seen, heard, and valued. He has tirelessly sown into our community with his talent and heart, creating art that reflects our shared humanity. Now, it’s our turn to sow into him during this challenging time.
We are raising funds to help Vernon:
- Repurchase cameras, laptops, and other essential photography equipment, which represent a massive financial investment that he now needs to rebuild from scratch.
- Cover the costs of repairing the significant damage to his car.
