Hi friends! I Last year we noticed that Vernon’s PSA (prostate stimulating antigen) was growing rather fast over the last 2 years. We were able to get him in quickly to a doctor who was able to run some preliminary testing. The testing was suggestive of prostate cancer. Since the testing he has had several sets of biopsies to confirm it was indeed cancer. The doctor has also had it send to a lab in California to determine if this was a fast growing cancer or not. After this last set of biopsies he has made the decision to have surgery to have it removed so it doesn’t spread further. If he has surgery to remove it he still has the option to do radiation if it comes back. If he does not choose surgery and chooses radiation he would no longer be a surgery candidate. Unfortunately none of the MRI’s, Biopsies, special testing or surgeries are cheap. Vernon has been off work due to 2 seperate quad tears to his leg since 2023. The cost of all of this is something I know that weighs heavy on Vernons heart when it really shouldn’t be something he should be worried about in a situation like this. He is going to be coming home from the hospital with a catheter which he is also worried about. So I am asking for your help so that he can just focus on getting well after his upcoming surgery and not all the medical bills coming in. I really appreciate any help you can give during this time. He loves all of his friends so much and I know in my heart that there is so many that would be mad if I hadn’t spoke up on his behalf for this wonderful man who gives so freely to others. Thank you so much!
