Let me introduce you to my cousin: Vernon. He is a 51 year old educator, proud man of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Incorporated, and life long enjoyer of music.
On July 7th, 1991 he involved in a crash with a drunk driver that left him paralyzed. The collision broke his neck and damaged his spine leaving him as a C6 + C7 paraplegic. Despite what the doctors, society, and his community expected of him - Vernon made his own rules about his life.
At 19 he moved out of his family home and pursued his Bachelor's and Master's degrees. He has made a career out of teaching and coaching high school aged students for the past 12 years and is HAPPY to announce that he is finally able to retire and enjoy the rest of his life without the burden of working.

Vernon dreams of a retirement filled with independence, travel, concerts, and experiencing even more that life has to offer. In order to make his retirement an easier transition I am asking the community to provide enough for Vernon to purchase an accessibility modified Chevrolet Tahoe or Traverse. He is specifically needing a raising ramp, power operated 'Captain's Chair,' hand paddles, and an extended seat to accomodate for his height.
Please help me give Vernon the retirement he deserves! He has enjoyed his past 33 years with his chair and expects to enjoy another 33 years on the road! Spread this campaign far and wide!
