Help Verne get back on her feet!

My name is Julia and I am raising money on behalf of beloved community member and former Powderhorn USPS delivery person, Verne. All money will be used to help Verne out of homelessness.

 

Some of you may know Verne from her mail route. She has been delivering mail to homes in Powderhorn for some time now. She has built strong relationships with neighbors, always warm and willing to listen.

 

Verne has fallen on hard times. During the pandemic, she discovered the apartment she was renting was infested with 5 different types of mold. She only realized this after becoming sick and hiring a company to investigate the place herself.

 

The mold was so bad she had to throw away all of the belongings she worked so hard for. The mold infected her mail truck and uniform, so she had to forfeit those. She had to move out of her apartment and she became homeless. This has caused immense emotional stress. Her former landlords have not compensated her for any of these losses.

 

Verne is currently on unpaid off duty status with USPS. She is living out of state with a relative but she misses the twin cities and she just wants to come home. Can you help bring her home for the holidays?

 

For the past several years we've talked a lot about how much we cherish our essential workers. Verne has been delivering mail through harsh Minnesota Winters and pandemic surges, all the while still loving on her community.

 

Can you return the love and make a donation to help bring Verne home and get her back on her feet?

 

All funds donates will go to Verne to help her move back to Minneapolis, resume her job, and cover living expenses.
