She has depleted her savings and has no real means to recover from the considerable costs of this life-altering event. Vera is retired, living on a modest social security check, and just making ends meet. With mounting medical bills, daily expenses like food and power, and the need for ongoing support, she is facing a long road ahead to regain some normalcy in her life.
