On 7/23/22 we received the life changing news that Vera has been officially diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). Over the next 2 years Vera will be receiving treatments, beginning with chemotherapy treatments on 7/24/22. She has already received 4 blood transfusions to increase her hemoglobin and platelets.

I organized this fundraiser as a way to help with any financial burden that this will likely bring to Vera’s parents Alex and Monica. They will have medical expenses, possible hotel expenses, as well as many other unanticipated expenses.

Vera is a brave little girl and we are confident that she will beat this! Whenever someone tells Vera that she looks like a “pretty princess” she responds “No, I am strong like Luisa” (from Encanto). So our motto for this journey is STRONG LIKE VERA. #stronglikevera
